User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070219 Firefox/2.0.0.2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070219 Firefox/2.0.0.2 Upon restart of XP, and opening Firefox, it looks as though the skin I was using(not sure which, but a MAC looking one)plus all my bookmarks just vanished. All else seemed to be O.K. I did notice that Foxy tunes was started in a different location in the browser too. It(firefox) dosen't want to open the way it is setup if I close and reopen it. Various toolbars appear that were previously disabled. I did reinstall, but no effect on bookmarks. Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Steps to Reproduce: 1.Reinsatlled Firefox. 2.Tried System restore- told nothing had changed. 3.At wits end! Actual Results: Unable to affect change. Expected Results: I had hoped that some file error had occured and since other things cached were alright, that it would fix itself upon reload or reinstall.
Please see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Lost_bookmarks (for recovering your bookmarks) and http://kb.mozillazine.org/Toolbar_customizations_reset_on_startup Does this help to fix your problem?

From the Mail from the Reporter to my Email Adress: just wanted you to know that the info you sent from Mozillazine was just what I was looking for. I was able to find the bookmark backup file, and it was restored. I still don't have any idea why it disappeared. That is something that is not in my purview; it is probably something you are familiar working with. Thanks! --- Seems this is a dupe of 319196
