User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070224 BonEcho/2.0.0.2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070224 BonEcho/2.0.0.2
When I highlight more than one bookmark and hit the Delete key, the bookmarks ARE evidently actually deleted, but their deletion is not reflected in the actual bookmark display unless I click away from the particular folder listing and then back to it. This is also described by people in the MozillaZine forums at:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=525563
AND
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=526259
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks.
2. Highlight more than one bookmark (as little as two).
3. Press the Delete key or choose Edit > Delete.
Actual Results:
The bookmarks are deleted, but Firefox, at the moment, behaves as if they still exist, including displaying them.
Expected Results:
The bookmarks are deleted, and Firefox removes them from the display.
This appears to have only shown up with the Firefox 2.0.0.2 upgrade.
Optionally, undeleting them (either through an Undo action, etc.) creates the same problem; they are restored, but Firefox doesn't reflect their restoration until clicked away from.
This is not a problem with localstore.rdf corruption.

Just wanted to add a couple of things:
This is similar to: Bug Bug 373691 – deleting bookmarks from bookmarks manager with DEL key not possible anymore
This issue still exists in FF 2.0.0.3
When deleting multiple bookmarks in the bookmarks manager (especially after doing an large bookmark file import) the deletions are not reflected/updated/refreshed in neither the left or right pane of the bookmarks manager. Both left and right panes of the bookmarks manager do reflect the deletions if I collapse and expand the "Bookmarks Folder" in the left pane ... HOWEVER ... when I close the Bookmarks Manager, the bookmarks listed in the left pane/sidebar of Firefox appear corrupted and show many blank empty folder entries after the "bottom" of the bookmarks list. The only way to "fix" it is to close Firefox completely and then reopen Firefox. After reopening Firefox the bookmarks list appears correctly.

Just to echo Roy, it does appear to be limited to the Delete key. I don't see it occur with the menu item or toolbar button.

Cancel that. It <I>does</I> occur with the menu item or toolbar button.
This problem also effects sorting by name and moving bookmarks within a or to another folder.

I experienced this issue as well, but it seems to be fixed in 2.0.0.4 (which I downloaded just now). Can anyone else with 2.0.0.4 confirm this and set the bug status to RESOLVED?
Seems to be resolved for me, however I have noticed that sometimes the behavior exhibits, and sometimes not. Further confirmation is probably necessary.

Just checked with 2.0.0.4 and everything (at least so far) appears to be working correctly with the bookmark deletions and bookmark screen refreshes for both the Bookmark Manager and Firefox bookmarks pane.

Can the owner confirm it's solved with FF2.0.4 or with FF2.0.16 ?
If yes, please close as WFM.
