You cannot add events to a subscribed calendar. Modification access right or even calendar ownership does not allow for adding or changing events in somebody else's calendar. You always get 'Access denied!'
Although changing of access rights is planned for a later release, existing access rights must not be ignored.

IMO the current restriction is too tight, i.e. denying any writing on non-owned calendars. For short term, I can and will allow that easily. That way, the server will actually check rights and access errors will come up on response.
However what's still missing is full-fledged, detailed access rights testing, which is needed for UI code in the future checking in advance whether a subscribed calendar is writable or not. Thus I keep this bug assigned and open until that is implemented.
