When I attempt to download a program, picture, video, etc. the download manager does not show up. The program, picture, or video that I clicked to downloaded downloads and it finishes, but without the manager showing the progress and the completion.  Nothing appears to be in the manager when I open it either. I don't know what's wrong, I tried fixing it by changing the location of the downloads but nothing happened.

Nothing happened. Nothing had changed.

There's a 'Show the Downloads window' checkbox in Tools->Options->Main

I have the box that says "show download window" and it still doesn't show.

Probably cleaning up your downloads manager or deleting downloads.rdf in your profile will help.

I tried deleting all the downloads and cleaning out the manager. Nothing has worked. I don't know what else to do.

I Tried Hall that but continues downloadinding and not showing the progress!
I have more users and  on the others i don´t have problems!maybe a plug in is corrupting this showing? can any body hlp me. please contact me. thanks

My download manager does not show and it does not download either.  I have tried the steps outlined, e.g., resetting the download maanager items that are listed in the fixit and that has not changed the problem. The download manager is simply not working at all.

Deleting downloads.rdf seems to have solved the problem.

Fixed on trunk by Bug 380250 as per Comment 7.  Sorry, but this won't be ported to branch.
