Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070312 Firefox/2.0.0.2
also confirmed on trunk.
Version => trunk
Actually, it's more like a feature.
Does it make sense to preview/print a dynamic animation(flash) with a static image?
Version: 1.8 Branch → Trunk
Yes, it does.
I can image 3 options to do this job.
1) Like IE, take a shot of the plugin, use the static image for print preview and print.
Benefit: WYSIWYG
2) Embed the plugin in preview, it's still an animation / movie during preview.
You can't predict what you will get from printing.
3) Print the page as PS, and preview the PS.
WYSIWYG, is it too slow for preview?
(Or maybe we could use only the plugin's PS in preview).
2) 3) will use the plugin printing API.
1) might be easier, but it will break the plugin printing interface.
Also on Windows.

+1 for solution no 1. It sounds more easy to implement.

This "feature" might not be useful in all cases e.g. when flash contains some important information. We use flash objects for non-standart font embedding, in this case it becomes a problem, since the Firefox users cannot print some important information.

If you try to print a page with Flash in it, the flash areas are blank when you print them or if you print-preview them: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1.10) Gecko/2007111504 Firefox/2.0.0.10
Here's another link to try printing:

Has any progress been made with correcting this for FF3?
Personally, when a browser won't print what is visible on the screen, I'd call it a bug, not a 'feature request'.
