When sites ask for authentication details, focused is taken away from the current tab, as this appear to be modal dialog.

Solution would be to make XUL element for authentification that would render in tab.

If you are talking about the master password dialog then this is a dupe of Bug 101611.

Ah, bug 330160 -> bug 223687 -> bug 123913. An auth request has to block the tab, and right now we don't have the backend to block a tab, only a window.
