when asked to restore session, browser opened without prompting for a username or password, although that info was a remembered password.

the browser did not prompt for password or username when restarting from a restored session. this would seem to be a security issue if someone else was using my computer

promt for password before continueing to restored session
So you crashed? Because that's the only time when you get the prompt for restoring your session.
Which username and password?  For a website's basic auth?
yes the browser did hang up and crash' I was taking an online class and listening to the course material. when I restored it went directly to the page it had crashed on without prompting for a password
 
the website was my company's own site, http://ingersollrand.vls01.com/default.asp
