Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3 Build Identifier: http://www.mozilla.com/products/download.html?product=firefox-2.0.0.2&os=win&lang=en-US I've exited FireFox saving a session. It had three windows open, each had about 50 to 60 tabs opened. Firefox was taking about 400 megabytes of RAM. When starting it accidentally, computer had just about 200 megs of RAM available. Firefox started opening the saved windows, and at some point crashed giving the C++ runtime error. When starting it again, it opened all the tabs, but restored the web pages in just a few of them. It looks like it restored only the ones it opened before the crash happened. Other ones were just blank, without even a URL displayed. So, the contents of the saved session has been mostly lost. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
If you're depending that heavily on Session Restore, I'd recommend using a safety net in form of e.g. the Session Manager extension ( https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2324 ) which automatically creates backups of a few most recently used sessions.
