User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; nl; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; nl; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3
In the Dutch version of 2.0.0.3 there is a default RSS feed linking to the latest news (Dutch: Laatste Nieuws). The URL of that RSS feed isn't valid anymore.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
This can be solved by changing the URL of that RSS feed to http://feeds.nos.nl/nosnieuws

why? it is a change on the mozilla servers not on a build, if the change causes a problem then is it easy to change it back.

It's waiting because it looks like a client bug (assigned to localizers) and there's no patch to approve. If it's a _server_ change then it should get filed against the server people who are expected to make the change, otherwise they will never see it and it will never ever happen.
Either way we need Axel's approval as the localization module owner.

It is a server change.
This redirect http://nl.fxfeeds.mozilla.com/nl/firefox/headlines.xml leads to a non-working feed.

Needs approval from Axel...

Actually, what we usually do is to have the l10n bug and the IT ticket separately, but I don't mind.
Jeremy did these before, compare bug 352688
python verify-rss-redirects --oldid=59729 .../browser/locales/all-locales
is the verification step, http://wiki.mozilla.org/index.php?title=Firefox2%2FL10n_Feed_Redirects&diff=59729&oldid=36048 is the corresponding diff of the specification.
Approving this change, we're just changing the URL to the location that the previous location advertises, and it's the same domain, so no change in service provider.

Hrm. Both the link above and the verification script fail as of now.
Is there some staging step missing or am I hitting some cache that doesn't update?

Axel, http://nl.fxfeeds.mozilla.com/nl/firefox/headlines.xml works for me. Are you still seeing problems?
Comment 12•18 years ago

Yes. Do you need to get this to Amsterdam somehow?

Yes, sir, now I'm getting the new feed from Berlin, too.
I know there had to be a reason why I'm working remote ;-)
