Eudora has the unique ability to play any WAV file as a filter action. I have different sounds for different people I receive e-mail from, some of which is a recording of their name.

I think that if Penelope was built without this capability, we would miss out.

Reproducible: Always
OS: Windows XP → All
Hardware: PC → All
Status: UNCONFIRMED → ASSIGNED
Ever confirmed: true
The lack of this feature in any other pop client is one of the reasons I've not switched away from Eudora.
AIFF, etc... anything QuickTime supports would be nice.
Priority: -- → P5
This is available as part of http://mesquilla.com/extensions/tonequilla/ so unless there is strong opposition I am marking this 'wontfix'

Given that the purpose of Penelope is to duplicate the functionality of Eudora (more, to BE Eudora), I don't think this should be marked as 'wontfix' based on the fact that another extension does it. Perhaps instead, "tonequilla"'s code can be incorporated into Penelope, saving time on development.

Personally, I don't care that much about this feature, but since it was a long-standing feature in Penelope's predecessor, it should be a feature in Penelope as well.
