Which version of flash do you have installed? Does it crash with Flash 9.0 r31?

(In reply to comment #2) > Which version of flash do you have installed? > > Does it crash with Flash 9.0 r31? > It works with just-installed flashplugin-nonfree 9.0.31.0.1 But I see no reason why firefox can crash because of any 3rd party module error.

(In reply to comment #3) > It works with just-installed flashplugin-nonfree 9.0.31.0.1 Probably not a bug in Firefox then. I forgot to ask if you can provide a stack trace for the crash. You can either follow the instructions at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Getting_a_stacktrace_with_gdb or install an official version of Firefox with Talkback enabled and provide a Talkback ID. I gather the old version of flash is now gone - you would of course need to reinstall it. > But I see no reason why firefox can crash because of any 3rd party module > error. It can, and does. Bug 156493 tracks progress towards running plug-ins in a separate process.

I think this is more like a problem viewing flash pages using Firefox. My Firefox (and Epiphany browser which also uses Gecko) crashes a lot when browsing through flash-heavy sites like YouTube.com. Operating System: Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty) Browser: Firefox 2.0.0.3 Plugin: flashplugin-nonfree 9.0.31 (Shockwave Flash 9.0 r31) By the way, the same plugin works fine when using non-Gecko based browsers like Opera. This bug is well discussed in the Ubuntu bug-tracking site (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/flashplugin-nonfree/+bug/104470)

No reply, INCO. Reporter, please reopen this bug if you can see this issue with Firefox 3.5 or later in Firefox Safe Mode (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode) or a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles)
