Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.2) Gecko/20070221 SeaMonkey/1.1.1 Build Identifier: Moving the horizontal bar/separator in the Message pane separating list of emails from the actual email message in classic view resets the "View/Character encoding" current value to the default value set in about:config (I guess thats where it comes from). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Yes, happens with Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.16) Gecko/20080722 SeaMonkey/1.1.11 The folder has no default encoding. Thunderbird reads from the email headers whatever encoding. I change it using "View/Character Encodings" to anything else and appropriate font is used to render the email message. I move the horizontal bar to see longer the list of messages in the current folder. After releasing the left mouse button I see the fonts used to render the email text have changed back to original. Please note this keeps the current message selected in the list and shown in the lower frame. However, if I go then again to "View/Character Encodings" I again the original encoding selected.

wierd
It seems that (indirectly) resizing the message pane causes the whole message body to reload (although I can't put my fingers on the exact cause atm). Confirming for trunk and branch with current SeaMonkey builds.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
Shredder (Thunderbird trunk) does not seem to be affected, thus moving over to SM, as the reporter's UA suggests anyway.
