379074 - Add page setup option to select A4 or Letter (paper size)

In a UK setup I can't seem to set the print setup to be A4 as default - it seems to randomly decide to print pages in Letter format which is a real pain as my printer is set to use A4 as the default.

I expect a default option to be under File > Page Setup and yet it talks about margins etc but nothing about the page size.

Why is this not an option?

What is the underlying algorithm used for selecting page size for printing??

Offered an option to be explicit about page size it is printing with.

This is an option set at the OS-level. You set your printer up for the type of paper and Firefox respects that. There is no bug here...

I understand that this is how it is supposed to work, but I reguarly see examples of the setting not working, and I know that the printer defaults haven't changed in between.

I will see if I can collect examples of a specific sequence of web pages or something more reproducible.

By the way, I have had email from a couple of people who have had the same problem as reported here...

Thus I am not sure I agree that this is an enhancement.

Have had this same problem since Netscape 4.79. On a seemingly random basis, Mozilla forgets the paper size and sends the print job as letter size. 

Other apps continue to respect the OS A4 setting when this has happened.

In addition Mozilla also occasionally forgets most of the page setup info, so headers, footers, shrink-to-fit.

Both can be cured by closing and restarting Mozilla.

I assume that RFE means Request for Enhancement?? If so I see that Sea Monkey still has no option to select paper size in the page setup dialogue. Where can I trace this the progress of the RFE?
