User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3
When rendering the following html table, the two last rows are merged (see picture 1 to see how it's rendered by Firefox), (see picture2 to see how the table should be rendered (in my sense)).
HTML source:
<table width=100% cols=41 border='1' cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0'><thead><tr style='background-color: rgb(220,220,220);'><td>Col 0</td><td>Col 1</td><td>Col 2</td><td>Col 3</td></tr> </thead><tbody><tr><td rowspan='2'>Cell 0:0</td><td>Cell 1:0</td><td colspan='2'>Cell 2:0</td></tr> <tr><td colspan='2' rowspan='3'>Cell 1:1</td><td>Cell 3:1</td></tr> <tr><td>Cell 0:2</td><td rowspan='3'>Cell 3:2</td></tr> <tr><td rowspan='2'>Cell 0:3</td></tr> <tr><td colspan='2'>Cell 1:4</td></tr> </tbody></table>
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Please render Html page containing source code provided in Details.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
the two last rows of html table are merged (table missed one row), see picture 1 [if I'm able to add attachment to this defect report ;-(]
Expected Results:
I think the html table should be rendered as picture 2 shows.
[if I'm able to add attachment to this defect report ;-(]
Opera/9.10 (Windows NT 5.1; U; fr) and Internet Explorer 6.0.2900.2180,
displays also displays table merging the two last columns
(meanning perhaps I failed to understand how to use rowspan in html table ?!).

It seems like a bug to me. There are 5 rows defined not including the header row. But only four rows are rendered. There are 5 rows shown in the DOM tree in the DOM Inspector. Rows 3 and 4 both highlight the third body row in the rendering in DOMi.
I'm using:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a5pre) Gecko/20070524 Minefield/3.0a5pre ID:2007052404 [cairo]

I simplified the testcase by removing the colspans.

This table should have three rows but only shows two rows. The middle row has a height of zero.

I doubt that comment 6 holds as every other browser chrome, opera, IE does the same as ff.
