Instead when you hit command M it minimizes the window.

Command-M is no longer the command key for Get mail. Changing the title of this bug to be a request for Command-M to override the OS X 'Minimize' option like was done in classic Eudora.

I've made a change which makes this a little better, but still isn't quite there all the way yet (so not marking this bug as fixed).  It will now work if you open the File menu once.  Now at least it will never try to do a Window->Minimize.  Thunderbird is different from Classic Eudora in that Get All New Messages will only check accounts that have previously authenticated in that app session
