I guess this is a regression from bug 368247.

Maybe you have too small screens? This makes the horizontal rule appr. 1440 pixels wide, which shows the bug for me even with smaller windows.

With the noshade attribute, a similar effect can be seen for smaller widths, see testcase.

This is now worksforme, using:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a7pre) Gecko/2007080305 Minefield/3.0a7pre
I guess the cairo upgrade has fixed it.
