386091 - Firefox Profiles in VMware Host create multiple files ie bookmarks, cookies, prefs - etc

I installed VMware 6 on my main pc and created a VMware copy to use as my guest.
I installed Firefox 2.0.0.4 on the guest and have a set of working profiles on
the host that I have been using for some time under FF 1.5 with no problem.
I have an profiles.ini file in the FF on the guest which references the actual
profiles on the host.

Since I installed Firefox 2.0.0.4 on the guest I get multiple files in any profile on the host. ie bookmarks, cookies, prefs, and sessionstore numbered
sequentially.

If I create a profile on the VMware guest and guide the profile.ini file to it
all is well ( created a test profile there ).

I want to be able to backup the profile directory on my VMware host as I can not
do this in the VMware guest unless I have it running.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install VMware 6.0
2. create a copy of running WinXP sp2 as Guest
3. install FireFox in Guest
4. copy profiles.ini file into C:\Documents and Settings\jsmith\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox
5. open icon using path  "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"  -P Programs http://www.anyurl.com
6. work with url and quit Firefox
7. check in Programs profile on host
Actual Results:  
creation of multiple copies of files ie bookmarks, cookies, prefs, and sessionstore numbered sequentially.

Expected Results:  
NOT create additional copys of these files.
