With Firefox 2 inactive tabs can be easily differentiated because there's a double-styled border on the bottom of the tab bar.
On Trunk however, the upper line of the border is missing and it's not as easy as on Fx 2 to differentiate selected and inactive tabs.
I'll add a screenshot that will explain the problem better.

I think this bug is some kind of regression as the Firefox 2 visual refresh aimed for "improve(d) distinction of selected tabs" (http://wiki.mozilla.org/FX2_Visual_Update/Default_Theme_Update).
