User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070515 Firefox/2.0.0.4 Build Identifier: Lightning 0.5 Build 2007062404 Even by selecting only ONE remote calendar, the "update remote calendar" does not work. NOTE : on this machine, I use an HTTP proxy with authentication. On my Linux box at home, without Http Proxy : no problem Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to "Agenda" / update remote calendars 2. 3. Actual Results: Empty display Worked fine before the update...
What version of Thunderbird do you use? What type of calendar (caldav, ics, google, wcap, ...) are you subscribed to? Do you see anye error messages in the Error Console?
Version: unspecified → Lightning 0.5
Tested on the same machine, at home, with direct connection to internet : works fine. Seems that the proxy authentication request is not recognized (at work)
I use Thunderbird 2.0.4 on Win XP pro The calendars are ics on http://www.icalx.com They worked fine before the update. I did not checked the error console. Will do it Monday at work.
I see this too on Thunderbird 2.0.4 with Lightning 0.5, since upgrading Lightning. Previously, on startup the remote calendar would fail to be displayed until the remote calendar was reloaded. Now, the remote calendar reload seems to have no effect, and the contents of the remote calendar remains completely undisplayed. The remote calendar is (according to the web server) served correctly on initial startup. Attempting to reload fails to cause any HTTP request to reach the server. I too connect via a proxy server at work. This appears to be related to proxy autodetection. When using autodetected proxy settings, or a manually configured proxy configuration URL, remote calendars fail. When using manually configured HTTP proxy settings, remote calendars work.

(In reply to comment #4) > proxy settings, or a manually configured proxy configuration URL, remote > calendars fail. W.r.t. WCAP, I can confirm the latter (auto config URL doesn't work), at least not at early during startup. This seems to be a necko/whatever bug. Does anybody know whether this has been filed already?
(In reply to comment #5) Do you mean Bug 338527?
Bug 393387 was fixed a few days ago and might help with the issue reported here too. I'd like you to retest with a Sunbird or Lightning 0.7pre (20070918) or newer build if your issue still exists. Note: The proxy issue from Comment #4 is tracked with Bug 338527.
Does the issue still exists using Lightning 0.7 Release Candidate 1? <http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/calendar/lightning/releases/0.7rc1/>
Yes, the issue still persists. I have the newest lightning nightly build running on TB 2.0.0.8 and I need to provide the proxy settings manually.
Andre, you issue is already tracked with Bug 338527 as stated in Comment #7. patrice Arnal, please post the retest results with Sunbird 0.7 resp. Lightning 0.7. If you are using a proxy ensure to use the manual configuration settings due to Bug 338527.
No response from reporter in several months. Resolving as WFM assuming that the issue has been solved in 0.7. Feel free to reopen the bug if the issue can be reproduced in a recent 0.8pre nightly build.
