just to clean things up a bit.
original patches in bug 361402 show how this can be done but they need testing / tweaking since the behavior of these two macros are different.

This is fixed for Firefox by the landing of Bug 392303 and other apps can fix this in their own code as well as by using the shared macros I am implementing in Bug 392303.
