Details
In the View menu of the Mozilla mail the "Page Source" should be changed to
"Mail Source..." since this is what the menuitem actually shows.

I think that "Mail Source" is confusing. Kinda sounds like it has something to
do with the sender of the message.
"Page Source" is more accurate and consistent with the Browser.

Page source?????
Come on....
What about "Message Source" then?
IMHO -- If we really want to be accurate, we should change it to HTML Source,
since that's what it really is. I believe that's what the menu item is called in
Composer.
I believe Composer uses Edit/HTML Source when you want to edit the raw html and
View/Page Source when you just want to look at the source html (no editing).
In Mail, if you are reading a *plain text* message, it wouldn't be really
View/HTML source then? View/Page (or Message) source would be more accurate.
Yes, you're right in that you could use it for plain text messages. I was just
thinking what this feature is mostly used for, and that is to view the HTML
source. I was assuming that people using plain text wouldn't care to use this
feature, but you do get to see all the headers in message, regardless of whether
it's a plain text or HTML message.
HOWEVER -whatever we change menu item to, should we also change the menu command
directly below it which currently says "Page Info"? Using the same argument that
you're not viewing a page, but a message? Gotta do them both, IMHO. I don't care
if it's Message or Mail, although I prefer Mail because it's shorter.

What about
"View raw mail" (or "View raw message")? IMHO, that's more informative than the
word "source" in this context.
Since i'm the one who is most likely to make the change, my opinion does not
matter. jglick, I'd like Message source. But I'm not going to do anything
without approval.
Changing subject. useless notes: NC4 uses Page Source. OE [once you can get to
the correct dialog] uses "&Message Source ..." which brings up your generic
view-source window [very much like netscape]

Summary: "Page Source" should be "Mail Source..." → "Page Source" doesn't make sense in the context of a message.
"Message Source" is fine if folks think that is better. But as Simone mentioned,
"Page Info" (menu item below) should be changed to "Message Info" as well for
consistency.

Marking fixed, this bug had an m18 milestone target and had to be fixed before
too much intl stuff went out of sync. Page info has disappeared from Mail, i
don't know when or when but it did.

This has nothing to do with "Page Info". This bug has to do with the item in
the menu saying "Page Source". The wording "Page Source" gives no meaning in a
mail message context.

Yes and I fixed that. verifyme.
my comments about pageinfo were in response to jglick@netscape.com 2000-08-07
14:01. I agree if we had a page info it should be changed. But since we don't
there's nothing left to do.

Verified Fixed with 100306 linux trunk mozilla, 100308 win32 trunk mozilla and
100310 mac trunk mozilla builds. It now reads View|Message Source. Marking bug
as Verified and removing vtrunk keyword.
