It is not possible once you insert the table to get out of its bounday by using the arrow key or by clicking on the page outside the table.
Sounds like a table editing bug. I assume the reporter really meant Composer, not Compositor. Reassigning to Editor.

This is a problem only if table is only element in page, or at begining (can't position caret before table) or at the end (can't position caret after table.) Poor Tony! This is a difficult problem. Lucky Tony! This is a dup. Although it would be a good project for Tony to investigate 34356. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 34356 ***
