An error occurred sending mail: unable to authenticate to SMTP server <my_smtp_server>. The server does not support any compatible insecure authentication mechanism but you have chosen insecure authentication. dates match up. my smtp is configured STARTTLS if available
This issue is NOT "resolved". I now have a box to "uncheck" (it wasn't checked to begin with after I reinstalled 2.0 Seamonkey), but the same error message appears, no matter the security status (including name and password checked or unchecked) in the server settings.
Should have added: not resolved using Mac PowerPC with latest compatible OSX operating system.
