The "Invite Attendee"-dialog has a large grid that displays the free/busy information for each attendee, see [1] for Christians proposal. It won't be the case that every provider supports the retrieval of this information, which makes the grid in that case superfluous. The request to streamline the dialog a bit to accommodate for came up during several discussions, so this should be addressed sooner than later.

This not only involves some changes to the UI, but also needs some new bits and pieces for the back-end. The UI needs a way to query the providers whether or not they support free/busy information. Since this won't be the very last feature that may be optional I'd suggest to add a way to ask providers for their capabilities in order to let the UI dynamically adopt to specific cases.

Christian, I'd would be way cool if you could provide us with some suggestion how we could change the "Invite Attendee"-dialog in order to resolve this issue.

Daniel, I'd appreciate any input from your side as well on how we should shape the IDL accordingly. I'd suggest to add some form of flags to calICalendar and some method to ask providers whether or not they support a specific feature. But this is just to get the discussion going.
