Java plug-in causes the whole Firefox application to hang. This happens on a particular Java applet.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to URL http://www.1470wmbd.com/pages/683169.php?contentType=4&contentId=690484
Actual Results:
The page loads. After a while, Firefox hangs. Probably caused by applet in the top right corner.
Expected Results:
Firefox stays responsive.

My friend also reports that this happens on his Windows XP too.

Renamed Java 5 -> Java 6. Since I was actually using Java 6 plug-in for Firefox.
Summary: Java 5 plug-in hangs Firefox → Java 6 plug-in hangs Firefox

Works on Konqueror, on the same computer
http://www.bbt.com/bbt/calculators/DebtRolldown.html
This page has a Java applet that works fine in Firefox 2.0 (at least up to 2.0.0.14 or so), but almost always hangs in Firefox 3.0 (3.0.0-3.0.5) - same JVM. Have tried with JRE 1.4.2 thru 1.5.16; mostly with JRE 1.5.x
To reproduce, enter some numbers, select View Report, scroll around on the pop-up, maybe click on the graphic (chart), then go back to the original page. Try and change the roll-down amount. If it works OK, repeat several times: it often hangs within the first 3 to 6 iterations. Might try opening another Windows application, change focus, then back to Firefox / Java.
This website also has some other calculators; I'm pretty sure I remember others hanging too, like http://www.bbt.com/calculators/MortgageLoan.html
I've rolled back to Firefox 2.0 a couple of times now because of this bug; that's becoming less of an option now that Mozilla's dropping support of the 2.0 product.
