Firefox linux trunk nightly 2007071704 Loading certain malformed urls from outside firefox causes a tab to appear which is blank (but grey, not the white of about:blank) and does not respond to attempts to load new URLs either from the address bar or from bookmarks. An example url is http://wiki.http://wiki.mozilla.org/Performance/Status_Meetings/2007-July-18 (note the double http) This does not occur if the url is in a web page, and it only happens if firefox is already open when you attempt to load the url. If you can't easily get a clickable url to appear in another application, it also happens running from the command line with just './firefox "http://wiki.http://wiki.mozilla.org/Performance/Status_Meetings/2007-July-18"' Requesting blocking on this because even though you can just close the tab and open another, firefox not responding really messes up my workflow a lot more than an error page, and I think it'd be worse for a user who didn't understand what was going on. I've got confirmation that this happens on both Linux and Mac, windows is untested. I haven't tested anything other than trunk. I do know that it's been happening for many months on trunk.
Flags: blocking-firefox3?
I'm forward duping only because the other bug has people CC'd to it.
