I am using the M15 build on NT.
To reproduce:
Goto www.quicken.com
Click the My Portfolio link next to Top Features:
The browser just sits there trying to load the page.
Now try and click another other link. The browser freezes.
You have to go to the NT Task Manager to kill the browser
before it can be used again.
2000051108 windows2000 worksforme
entering www.quicken.com, click my portfolio, page loads.
Please try to repeat with a newer build.

I have reproduced this using the build from 5-11-2000. I'm
doing this on NT 4.00.1381 with all the latest patches.
Please reopen this bug

I wonder if this is prompting for PSM but the prompt is lost behind the window
or something. keiths@cisco.com (Keith Spainhour) do you have the PSM installed?

Reopening for further investigation. Updating URL so it is clickable (bugzilla
requires the http:// part for the URL link to work)

I just tested this on my Windows 98 box, with the same build (05/11/2000).
I DO get a popup asking for PSM. I don't know what this is. So, maybe there
is some problem getting this to happen on NT.
Can you tell what PSM is and where to get it, I'll try again with it.

OK, I found PSM and installed it on my Win98 box. The link works fine now.
It appears this may be an NT only problem.
On Win98 without PSM, I got a popup asking where psm.exe is. On NT this never
happened.
Once PSM was installed on 98, the link worked.
How does PSM relate to Mozilla and why did this one link need it? I'm
just trying to understand this better so I can be a better tester.
I'll install PSM on my NT box on Monday (5/15/2000) and see if that
allows me into the link.

PSM is the Personal Security Manager. "Netscape Personal Security Manager (PSM)
is a standards-based, client-independent application that performs PKI
operations on behalf of the Mozilla browser. PSM also provides advanced
cryptographic capabilities for applications that connect with Certificate
Management System and greatly simplifies PKI operations for end users."
PSM allows you to connect securely to secure sites. Mozilla does not have a
built in component to handle this (Netscape's branded products have this built
in) so it is necessary to install the PSM if you want Mozilla to connect to
secure sites.

I installed PSM on NT and it worked fine. So it appears the bug is exists
where PSM is not installed on NT. The "where is psm" popup dialog never
comes up on NT and crashes mozilla.

Check out bug 33329. It talks about mozilla freezing if PSM fails to
start. Maybe this is the same bug maybe its something different.
