User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6 I installed Firefox from my XP admin account and use it day-to-day as a limited user. While running as the limited user, I was informed that it had version 2.0.0.6 was available. I declined and went to log in as admin, knowing that it would fail to install as a limited user. The update completed fine as admin, so I went back in as the limited user. It offered to install 2.0.0.6 again, seemingly unaware it was already that version, confirmed by checked Help/About. Now, the option under Help reads "Apply downloaded update now", which would surely fail. Thanks. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install 2.0.0.5 as XP admin user. 2. Run above as XP limited user. 3. Wait for FF to check for updates. Actual Results: Keeps trying to install new version which is already running. Expected Results: I'd like to see limited users have some sort of notification that they should temporarily switch to admin to install the update. A quick commentary: Its good that limited users are informed that updates are available, unlike before when you had to either know about the update on some news site or happen to have checked with the admin user on the off-chance.
