I came across this bug while using extjs. Basically when you have a flash movie in a container like a div and its visibility is changed to "hidden" the flash movie stop/restarts while you can't see it. Then when the visibility is changed back to "visible" it stops/restarts again.

I have checked this behavior in Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer 6 and 7 and Firefox is the only browser of the 4 I have checked so far that seems to have this behavior.

This happens to be a real problem for those who are wanting to make a good user interface in web applications that have flash movies that get opened in tabs that you may want to have keep playing, but when the user switches tabs, the flash stops/restarts.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Visit the Example URL.
2. It seems to happen when CSS property visibility is changed from hidden to visible and back.
Actual Results:  
The flash movie stops/restart when hidden and then when made visible again.

Expected Results:  
The flash should continue playing even when hidden.

I have tried this in Firefox 1.5, Firefox 2.0 and with the latest in trunk.

Sorry about that, Flash Version is 9,0,47,0.

Wayne, after looking through the list of bug reports you sent me, and finding a link in another bug, it appears that this bug (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90268) is the same as mine. It is frightening that it has been open for 6 years and still hasn't been fixed. :/
