seen on Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9a8pre) Gecko/2007080804 Minefield/3.0a8pre

Open any modal dialog (ex; Print, Print setup, Import...)
the dialog doesn't have focus.  You have to click in the content area of the dialog to set focus to the dialog.

I'm not sure I see any obvious candidates for the cause of this regression - Neil's popup changes, perhaps?
