The attendess should be searchable in addressbooks like in thunderbird including LDAP based backends

This already works with the event dialog that recently landed. Please note that the LDAP search uses Thunderbird's global settings -> Tools -> Options -> Composition -> Addressing.
So this is CVS only? Both lightning and sunbird?
This feature is available in any recent nightly - 0.7pre, see [1]. It landed on 2007-07-25, so any nightly from this point on should do the trick.
