If you disable then enable the QuickTime plugin via Add-ons manage, you have to refresh the page to view videos. With the plugin finder service as soon as it is installed, the videos show up. I haven't tried this with flash or shockwave though.
Expected: same results as with the plugin finder service

Same is true with all plugins including Java which already had the ability to enable / disable via the content preference panel. Changed summary and severity to enhancement since this has always been the case for disabling and enabling.
Severity: normal → enhancement
Summary: Disable then Enable QuickTime plugin requires a page refresh to view videos → Disable then Enable plugin requires a page refresh to activate

Not wanted, but we'd still consider a fix if one is provided.
Flags: wanted1.9.1? → wanted1.9.1-
