Details
(Whiteboard: [see comment #5 for StR])
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a8pre) Gecko/2007081005 Minefield/3.0a8pre
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a8pre) Gecko/2007081005 Minefield/3.0a8pre
When I have more then one instances of Minefield started and I close all of them together and start Minefield again, it don't restore all windows.
To close more windows click at opened window in Windows main panel with CTRL button pressed, then right click on one of selected applications and choose close group.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. start minefield
2. open two tabs with pages (google.com, mozilla.org)
3. start new minefield
4. visit some page (gmail.com)
5. click on first minefield in main panel with CTRL button
6. right click on first instance of minefield and choose close group
7. start minefield again
Actual Results:
It opens only one window.
Expected Results:
Minefield opens all windows.
That worked well will .SessionSaver 0.2.1.031 add-on in versions 1.5 and 2.* (install.rdf changed), but this add-on not working with 3.* firefox.

The problem is that Windows closes the individual windows in sequence -- but as long as the main process doesn't quit, SessionStore discards the window information.
Not sure what we could do against this without resorting to intention-guessing when a window is closed, i.e. without considering two or more windows being closed together when they are all closed within a few seconds (that's what SessionSaver does and what we explicitly don't, as that would prevent you from quickly discarding a few windows before actually closing Firefox).
Work-around is to simply not close Firefox through the task bar but through any window's File -> Exit.

A work-around doesn't mean WORKSFORME. This bug might well be WONTFIX, but we'll have to consider that first. -> REOPENED

"close group" in Windows is work-around too, I was using it just to force saving sessions from more windows.
To define shortcut for File -> Exit is enough maybe.
If user have three or more windows is easier to click File -> Exit than mark theese windows for close group operation. (that's only my opinion for discussion)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open 10 browser windows (or as many as it takes so that Windows XP auto-groups them) with only one tab each
2. Right-click on the auto-group and select "Close Group"
Expected result:
A Confirm Quit prompts you whether to really close Firefox.
Actual result:
No such prompt -- the windows are just closed without further comment or option to cancel their closure or save the session.
