FF and TB setting folders are stored within C:\Document and settings\username\ directory. Since Microsoft doesn't provide us a way to move this important folder to another drive other than system drive, it would be nice if Mozilla provides a way to specify its setting folder. Well, recently, my system partition had a problem and I lost: * Bookmarks -- this isn't a serious problem since I'm able to find back most of them by Google * Contacts -- this is a very serious problem...... It's also nice if Mozilla (FF & TB) would move automatically the setting folder once it's specified by user. NB: I've tried about:config but it doesn't seem to be there. That might be normal since the location is stored in the registry. Anyway, even if it's possible to access it in about:config, it's still good to be able to edit in the normal Option window even if it's in Advance section.
Which product/version are you using ?
Assignee: prefs → nobody
Component: Preferences → General
Product: Mozilla Application Suite → Core
QA Contact: general
Product = FF & TB Version = 2.0.0.14 But I don't think it's a matter of which product/version I'm using, because everybody using Windows has this problem.
Component: General → Startup and Profile System
Product: Core → Toolkit

This is surely either WFM or wontfix

The profile manager already provides a way to put your profile folder wherever you like so yes I believe this is WFM.
