This is a replacement bug for Netscape bug
http://scopus/bugsplat/show_bug.cgi?id=326272 . It's yet another corrupted
database bug.
I have a database corruption. This is the first one I've seen where the certdb
was created with either 4.05 or 4.06. The key.db that I have was created on
either 4.05 or 4.06 and is now being used in 4.5 on a win95 machine. I recently
got a new rootca cert and after I imported it into this machine the key db
became unusable. Here are the symptoms:
1. Import worked, and I can "view" the cert (after selecting from the 2 options)
2. If I try to go to a protected website, I'm asked to select the cert but after
I select it I'm never asked to unlock the key db and the browser does nothing.
3. If I try to export it, I can select the cert I want to export, but then I get
the error "Unable to export certificates. An error occured attempting to export
the certificates."
I'll put the cert & key dbs somewhere that you can get to them when you have a
chance to look at this. I'll update this bug with the location shortly.

I've been able to corrupt my cert database too. It happened during a crash
while reading SSL/IMAP mail, the browser crashed and now I can no longer do any
cert-auth opertations without crashing communicator.
When a site (either website or mail server) requests cert-auth, my browser
crashes without asking me for cert db password.
There are many full-circle calls in from my machine while trying access my cert
db.
I have copies my corrupted key3.db and cert7.db to /u/shadow/bugsplat/326272.
Call me when you need the password to it.

Assigning this to Fred so we can keep all the cert/key DB corruption test cases
together.

I think the test cases refer to versions of NSS in Communicator hat are too old
to be able to reproduce now. I think the move of the DB code to softoken
changes the story quite a bit, so I think we should close this bug as either
INVALID or WONTFIX. Wan-Teh, if you agree, please do so.
