395736 - New Mail sound reset when application exits

Each time I set the New Mail sound alert, it gets reset each time I restart the program.  I set the "Use the following sound file" in Preferences.  It correctly uses the sound.  Upon closing and reopening the program, the option reverts back to the default eudora "newmail.wav" file.

Confirmed. Sound is reset after quit/launch of Eudora.

We're probably not saving the preference....

I had the same thing. As a quick workaround, I copied the .wav I wanted and renamed it newmail.wav file and then copied it in to the proper extensions folder. That will have to suffice for now. Would like to see this working correctly though.

I tried setting the "default system sound for new mail" and setting that sound to the one I wanted but it still defaults back to the "Use the following sound file" newmail.wav setting.

I also thought of that workaround ( Didn't an earlier version of Eudora require that also? ) But wanted to see if there was an official bug report and fix in the line.

Double-clicking on a folder in the folder tree, which opens another window, also resets the new mail WAV file setting.

This is fixed in Eudora 8 beta 4/Penelope 0.5a1.
