Loading over http, the testcase loads perfectly fine in Camino (20070911 trunk build). Loading locally (File > Open) hangs the same Camino build, requiring a force quit. Works fine in Minefield builds. 10.4.10 ppc.

#3 agreed hang, is there a special keyword for hang? if not >> crash.

Yes. "hang" is the special keyword we use for a hang.

A sample would help. See here for instructions: http://www.caminobrowser.org/documentation/bugzilla/#hang

http://www.peepo.co.uk/temp/CaminoSample.txt this is a temp location. seems a pity the file is bigger than the attachments can cope with: 440kb more than 300kb can't fathom this as file looks small, but does take a while to load.

Does this only apply to SVG files? i.e. Do other locally saved files (html, images, plain text) work.

Works fine with an OS-X seamonkey build from a cvs pull of 9/12 morning, but hangs Camino trunk nightly of 9/12. Maybe something wrong with Camino trying to find an external helper for svg content instead of handling it internally?

If so, perhaps it's related to not shipping a mimeTypes.rdf yet? We're still trying to recover from the content handling changes.

minefield nightlies open multiple windows whilst trying to open local svg file. propose to widen scope.
Summary: Camino only: open any local SVG file will hang → Open any local SVG file will hang
(In reply to comment #18) > minefield nightlies open multiple windows whilst trying to open local svg file. > > propose to widen scope. No, file a bug on Minefield. One issue per bug report.

Why is this marked fixed ? This bug only affects trunk builds (Camino 2.0a1 pre). 1.6a1pre is a *Branch* build, based on Gecko 1.8.1, and is not affected by this bug.

it's a little beyond my understanding how this bugs got resolved without any code changes. I checked this in the latest trunk nightlies wfm. for a few days this has been broken in the trunk nightlies. how is this not a code change?

as per bug 396365 reopening as latest nightlies are broken on os x this is pretty tiresome guys, stalls SVG bug reporting and test case production

(In reply to comment #25) > this is pretty tiresome guys As is dealing with people who have been using bugzilla long enough to have no excuse for not knowing bugzilla ettiquette, but still refuse to follow it. Trunk is not guaranteed never to have regressions, so if you want to test it you need to accept that, and tone down your attitude in bug reports. You have been warned about this elsewhere. Besides which, I'm not clear on how it's our fault that we haven't been working on a bug that you yourself closed. When a bug has been closed by the reporter as working, we don't work on fixing it.

Chris, this being the camino bug AND as it's no longer hanging, it's currently closed Bug 396365 isn't the same bug, evidently.... cheers

(In reply to comment #29) > Bug 396365 isn't the same bug, evidently.... Of course it's not; not only did this bug and bug 396365 have different products, symptoms, and regression ranges (in fact, they shared nothing except having something to do with SVG files), this bug was conclusively proven in testing to be a duplicate of bug 397309 (a definitively Camino-only bug), which is why it was marked as such.
