I have a problem that I think might be related, or perhaps better information to reproduce this issue. When linking to a local file the link simply doesn't work. Example: At my office we have a server with a shared disk drive. Everybody has access to the same "S" drive. I frequently send messages to my coworkers with links to files contained on the "S" drive using the following procedure... * Click "Write" button * Type text in compose windows * Select text * Press CTRL + L to open link properties window * Click Choose File and find the file on the "S" drive * UNcheck the "attach source of link" box * Send the email (as html) The resulting message contains the text underlined in blue, and when checked the properties contain the correct file location information, but when clicked the email client (Thunderbird as well as Outlook) simply ignores the link. I believe there may be a problem with the way the link is formatted. The link location ends up looking something like "file:///S:/Directory/Directory/Name.jpg" and, at the destination computer, can be selected, copied, entered into an explorer window, and will open the desired file. Interesting behavior: When hovering over the link the mouse cursor turns into a finger and the status bar displays the location, but a left click yields no results. Right click -> Save location works.
Moving to MailNews::Composition. If anyone sees this problem on other than Windows, please change Platform to All. SeaMonkey 1.1 is now dead, 2.0a1pre was a very early version of 2.0. Please recheck with 2.0.14 or later, and if possible with 2.1 or later.
