I use Firefox on a shared PC, where not everyone chooses to run Firefox as the default browser. But every time I say "yes" to the default browser check, Firefox sets itself up as the default browser for all users of the system.

see bug 220865 comment 6 it's probably a dupe of bug 220865, but that's filed for the suite.

Version: unspecified → 2.0 Branch

and or it is duplicate of bug 138997

No, this should be fixed as of Firefox 3.0 on trunk and is only applicable to Firefox 2.0. If someone can verify this works as expected with Firefox 3.0 this bug can be closed as wontfix in regards to fixing it for Firefox 2.0 since Firefox 2.0 is end of life.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 Check with firefox 3.0. Default browser check works fine on a shared PC. It restricts firefox as Default browser for that user and it does not affect other users.
