There are a couple of things that could be changed to make lightning look more like Thunderbird. These are of course just suggestions.
* The splitters should be adapted to look like the Thunderbird splitters. Other than making them have min-width: 5px, it should be made sure that the border colors are correct. Especially the...
* Today pane splitter. It looks way too 3d, especially on the right side. It should look more like the folder pane splitter
* The small white border around the calendar views could be removed.
* Unifinder (depends on bug 372829) should be set to -moz-appearance: none to make it look more like the message list pane. The tree rows could be styled depending on odd/even.

I think we've tackled all issues in 1.0pre.
