Cover the issues and solutions presented at: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Recovering_a_missing_profile Article title doesn't necessarily have to be "Settings and data lost", but should be understandable to a user and describe the symptoms. christineyen@gmail.com was assigned this article.

Doesn't look like Christine will be continuing this. Do we have any examples of this happening in Firefox? In the comments, Alice says the original writer of the original source article didn't know of any threads or bugs that this applied to. The original source article (which is for Thunderbird/Mozilla Suite) now lists a few bugs, but none are filed against Firefox. I suggest we hold off on this article until we see a few cases of it happening (and a few cases of the proposed solution working).

I'm WONFTFIXing this. There's so much overlap with other, more specific, articles like 'Lost Bookmarks', 'Toolbar keeps resetting', and 'Preferences are not saved'; and from the looks of comment 1, we don't even have cases of this happening in Firefox.
