Need a way of tracking article requests/status without using Bugzilla

In the long term, we need tracking of article requests and tracking to be done on support.mozilla.com, rather than Bugzilla; so contributors aren't forced to register on a separate site.

Lucy once mentioned sumo and Bugzilla having single sign-on. If that was done, would we need to move off Bugzilla?

It may be helpful to have a page on sumo with links to the bugs. I get the whine mails from bugzilla on sumo bugs, but that just has a number and title.
Perhaps this can be done by having some smart searches as clickable links on a sumo page. Some searches can sort by last modified, by platform specificity (or by platform), or by some other criteria.
For example, there could be a 'Mac OS X TODO' list that I would be interested in.
What really would be useful is a column that says either "ready to be worked on" or "still being discussed". When I look for articles to work on, I always seem to find the latter. Unfortunately, it may not be possible to have a search return this kind of nuanced information.

I've suggested creating a forum specifically for article discussion. I think between using forum thread statuses like SOLVED and using the tiki tracker system we should have this covered.

Yeah, a forum could work well, especially now when we have the "resolved" status. That could be used whenever an article is written. We might want to develop more "article forum"-specific statuses though.
Thoughts?

More details about how I'd like to use the forums for article discussion are here http://groups.google.ca/group/mozilla.support.planning/browse_thread/thread/5a71b797def239d0#
They only cover discussion though, not how we'd track status.
I agree with Lucy. I think a separate forum board would fit the need, a board open only to contributors account.

No concrete plans yet - this is kind of a long term plan.
Ideally a SUMO feature which lists "wanted articles".

Going through bugs for new KB PRD, and came across this.
We fixed this earlier this year: http://blog.mozilla.com/sumo/2010/03/05/we-are-no-longer-using-bugzilla-for-article-requests/
