If we had a really bad article that had a lot of "unhelpful" votes and we greatly improved it, the article would still be rated as unhelpful. These votes would skew the helpful percentage statistics forever. Same for a helpful article that got worse.

We should drop results that are older than X days. What we decide X should be depends on the volume of votes we get.

Nelson, this deserves higher priority. Can you look into your time requirements for this bug and try to fix this asap?

The best way to do this would be to keep daily poll results and offer a way of displaying them part date range (defaulting to last 30 days or whatever). This way we could track it over time.

The easiest way to do this would be to set up a cron job and delete all results every 30 days.

Yeah, we definitely should have the ability to select a date range. I'm not in favor of deleting old stats, although I guess you merely pointed out the easiest way to fix this.

What about the hits for the ranking page. Is that a separate bug? It is from a technical point of view since hits are separate from poll results.
