Preferences > Content > Fonts&Colors has two pieces of information: Default font and Size. However, what is shown is not the default font but something related to the last action under the Advanced menu.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start with the usual default font and size
2. Goto Advanced, select fonts for Arabic, choose some font and set its size to 72
3. Close the Advanced Menu and see that the default font is listed to have font size 72. But pages are rendered as usual. Changing this 72 has no influence on the default font size. Look in about:config to see that font.size.{fixed,variable}.ar is 72 but font.size.{fixed,variable}.x-western is used as default value for rendering.
Actual Results:
The Fonts&Colors menu shows the wrong items as Default font and Size.
Changing the shown items does not change the default way pages are rendered.
Only if one goes back into the Advanced menu, and selects Western, the correct
font and size are listed again.

Expected Results:
Correct info should have been shown.

What I desired to do, but was unable to, was to pick a different font for the arabic fragments of text shown on certain webpages. No matter how "arabic" is defined (from the "arabic" block of Unicode, or marked with lang="ar") the settings in the Advanced menu under "Fonts for Arabic" do not seem to influence the rendering.

I retested on a Firefox 3.6.* system. The bug is still precisely as described - probably nobody ever looked at it.
