User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6 this upgrade fails every time with this message. One or more files could not be updated. Please make sure all other applications are closed and that you have permission to modify files... This is a personal laptop and no other apps are open. I have went to mozilla.org and downloaded the update and tried to upgrade that way but nothing appeares to work..... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Reporter, the version notes indicate that "Software Update will not work if Firefox is installed to a location on your disk to which you do not have write access, since Software Update needs to replace or create files in this location." http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/products/firefox/2.0.0.7/releasenotes/ I'm resolving this bug as a DUPLICATE of bug 340535. If you want to install Firefox 2.0.0.7, then download it at http://www.mozilla.com/ then manually uninstall 2.0.0.6 via Control Panel/Remove or add programs then install 2.0.0.7 Gérard
