it would be helpful to have a crashreporter log file.

Care to explain what this logfile would do, and how it would be different from the existing .txt files?

I asked him to file this bug. People occasionally (sometimes systemically) get "Failed to submit crash report" with no extra data. I don't want to throw up a dialog with a random error code, but I would be happy to put that in a log file.

So this adds a basic log to the crashreporter client. It logs to Crash Reports/submit.log. It will log a successful submission, or a failure. On Win32 and OS X, it should give a failure reason. On Linux it will just say failed right now. I filed a few Breakpad issues to get more interesting error info from the client libs, but this should be a good start.

Comment on attachment 285286 [details] [diff] [review] ad some logging to the crashreporter client Looking for approval. This would give us some visibility into failures to submit crash reports. It's localized to the crash reporter client.
