While uploading contacts from outlook , each time creating a new contacts when ever you  upload to address book even though it is already present with the same list.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Double click on Thunder Bird.
2. should open and configure with your mailbox.
3. Goto  tools>import>click on import
4. select address book on import screen. Click on next.
5. select outlook. Click on next.
6. after importing click on finish. 
7. Goto  tools>Address Book>click on Address Book.

Actual Results:  
multiple duplicate of contacts with same name and same contact list.

Expected Results:  
should not create duplicate of contacts with same name and same contact list.

when ever am uploading from outlook the contacts were created with the same list each and every time you upload, so i feel 
1.when ever you upload from outlook it shall rewrite the existing contacts.
or
2.when you upload from outlook it shall create a new contacts with alias name so that it is easy to delete the previous contacts otherwise leads to confusion.

Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.6 (20070728)on Win XP
I encountered similar problems, after migrating 30 team members to thunderbird. 
1. Import Address Book from Outlook (Express, same)
2. Watch Address Count in imported book
3. Move All imported addresses from one book to another
4. You should notice a big increase of the address count after this operation. (A lot of Dupes created by thunderbird)

No it is not. This bug is about duplicate *address books* being created, bug 45946 is about duplicate *cards* (or contacts) within an address book.

Well, the words "address book" don't even appear in the summary. It currently says: "creating duplicate contacts with same name and contact list." I had to see the screenshots to understand the issue...

Minor? If true this would seem like a major usability problem for users switching from Outlook to Tunderbird.
