Currently if one wants to be quieried if one wants to restore next startup, one must 
e.g., kill -1 firefox on linux.

There should be a additional menu item File->"Quit but freeze and ask me if I want to restore next time" or some better name.

Thus one need not resort to kill(1) etc. tricks if one wishes to continue later.

Just select "show my windows and tabs from last time" in the "Main" tab of preferences.
