If you enable filter logs for newsgroups, they are written into html files, named with the group name followed by .htm (on Windows). html files are text files. They should have platform-dependent line endings. But presently, these log files are written with Unix line endings, even on Windows. This means they cannot be readily viewed or edited on Windows with Windows native text tools.

The filter log file is HTML. They should be rendered the same in all browsers. You want to view it in a text editor. That use case is not supported yet but we can accept it as an enhancement request.
