I think I might have had this webpage in on of my many open TABs. It seems to have some kind of media plugin thing: http://www.liesdamnedlies.com/2007/10/the-skinny-on-g.html Still, the crash happened in the garbage collector for the java script engine.
I have tried this several times now: first I restore my session and then I reload the TAB which contains the URL above; this causes the crash to happen again. Different stacks every time though.
I can't get the bug to repro on Firefox 2.0.0.6 running on Ubuntu Gutsy.
I might also add that the movie presentations at the URL above are playing correctly on my machine.
OK, I've restored my session several times now closing a few tabs every time. I managed to reduce this bug to a single URL and it's the one I specified above. Repro steps for this bug is: 1. surf to http://www.liesdamnedlies.com/2007/10/the-skinny-on-g.html 2. wait 5 seconds (video presentations are now playing) 3. reload the page 4. crash happens pretty mich right away

Someone on IRC just told me that VLC plugin for Firefox is very unstable. I tried to upgrade to the latest videolan (to 0.8.6c that is). After the upgrade this same webpage does not crash and instead of VLC I see Windows Media Player playing the video files.
